The Total Restoration Cycling Team had one of their most
successful race weekends in BC this year at the Provincial
Championships in Abbotsford.
New recruit Zach Taylor outkicked everyone in a sprint finish in
the 100km junior men’s race showing why he will be a huge
asset to the team in the coming year. In his first ride with TR
he takes the top spot!
Jessica Hannah rode an aggressive race, constantly attacking and creating a late race, 2 person breakaway with Moriah MacGregor (Glotman Simpson Racing) which would result in a sprint finish that Jess dominated. Following closely behind her was Alison Testroete winning the group sprint for the third podium spot.
In the 140 km men’s race Tim Sherstobitoff got into an early 10 man breakaway that worked together to gain a gap on the main field. In the last 40 km the group started to spinter, and with 30 km Cyrus kangarloo (Team HR Block) attacked solo. with 2 laps to go Tim and Rob Britton (Trek - Red Truck) were the only riders left with the legs to chase, so they attacked on their own trying to catch Cryus. with only 10 km left Cyrus was in their sights, but they couldnt close the gap. The two riders sprinted for second, with Tim edging out Rob at the line. The main bunch finished close behind, nearly catching the remnants of the breakaway group. Chris de Vries put in a solid sprint up the final climb to finish 11th.
